An objective manuscript evaluation for that important rewrite
As I wrote the final version of Nevada, I was fortunate to have the guidance of of Allen J. Wilson, an editor with decades of experience. I’ll never forget his advice shortly after I began to rewrite the original manuscript. A brief note read, “Don’t rush, take it easy, proceed s-l-o-w-l-y.”That one line calmed and prepared me for the years of rewrite that eventually grew to over 1,400 manuscript pages.
A good editor critiques where necessary, sometimes with humor, as mine did. “That line made me cringe,” called for a quick revision. A poor characterization was described as, “I thought Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland were back!”
You need to develop characters that come to life as the story progresses and speak like real people. Pace, plotting and point of view must also be realistic and consistent.
Whether you have a completed manuscript or just a few opening pages, we’ll provide an objective evaluation of your work. We don’t offer ghost writing and won’t do the work for you, but we’ll always be available to assist as you proceed with that all important rewrite.
